• An inspection of air defense system and combat position of the Armenian armed forces abandoned after the anti-terror operation conducted by the Azerbaijan Army in the Karabakh economic region, was held. The 1S32 missile guidance radar and several 2P24 launchers with 3M8 guided anti-aircraft missiles, which are part of the 2K11 Krug anti-aircraft missile system, were seized from a military facility found in the Khojaly region.
  • President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev accepted credentials of newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italian Republic Luca Di Gianfrancesco on May 25. The ambassador presented his credentials to the head of state. President Ilham Aliyev then had a conversation with the ambassador. Expressing satisfaction with his appointment as ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ambassador Gianfrancesco conveyed the greetings of President Sergio Mattarella of Italy to President Ilham Aliyev.

  • Azerbaijan’s National Flag was raised, and the National Anthem was performed in the villages of Baganys Ayrim, Ashagy Askipara, Kheyrimli, and Gyzylhajily in the Gazakh district, which have recently come under the control of the State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Following delimitation work, a 12.7 km long border line was established, resulting in the return of the territories of these four villages in the Gazakh district – Baganys Ayrim, Ashagy Askipara, Kheyrimli, and Gyzylhajily ( totaling 6.5 km²) – to Azerbaijan.
  • According to the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief, Ilham Aliyev, the Protocol of the 8th meeting of the State Commission on the Delimitation of the State Border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia and the Commission on the Matters of Delimitation of the State Border and Border Security between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan was signed on April 19, 2024 in order to ensure the liberation of the villages of Baganys Ayrim, Ashagy Askipara, Kheyrimli and Gyzylhajily in the Gazakh district of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
