Thailand shooting: At least 12 dead as soldier opens fire near shopping centre

An Army soldier has killed at least 12 people in a mass shooting and taken hostages inside a shopping mall while live-steaming sick videos taunting his victims and police. It is still an active shooter situation with the corporal, named by police as Jakrapanth Thomma, still at large and holed up inside the Terminal 21 shopping centre in Korat in north-eastern Thailand. The gunman - who first killed his commander - has taken hostages on the fourth floor and Thai special forces are preparing to storm the building, it is reported. The suspect wrote on Facebook that he was seeking "revenge" and had posted a number of images showing him holding a gun in full uniform or of his firearms. Wearing a military helmet and uniform, he said in one chilling video clip that he was exhausted from shooting his victims during the ongoing massacre. He said: "I’m tired now. I can’t move my finger anymore."
